Barbarian Swords
The term Barbarian refers to a person that is uncivilized and cause chaos through the use of force. Sometimes, even though they cause problems in a society, they were viewed as noble, but other times viewed as cruel and brutal. Barbarians typically had roots in what we know today as Europe and also China. In more recent times fictional characters have centered around Barbarians, the most notable being Conan the Barbarian. This was a fictional character created by Robert E Howard in the 1930's.
No matter what the origin of the term Barbarian, one thing remains true. These individuals were fierce in battle and their weapon of choice was a sword. A Barbarian sword, also sometimes called a Fantasy sword is often quite long - at least 36 inches long, but often times much longer. It's not uncommon to see a 50 inch long Barbarian Sword!
Todays Barbarian Swords are made of stainless steel and include decorative handles. A custom made Barbarian Sword can be purchased from some sword manufacturers and can be quite costly. More common mass produced swords can be purchased for lower prices. Spain is a major exporter of some of the best quality Barbarian swords on the market.
